Lovers, not Fighters! {Heather Milano – Bucks County Photographer}

In light of upcoming Valentine’s Day, I once again subjected my kids to posing and behaving for me in front of the camera. They definitely suffer from that inability to just be NORMAL and SMILE and NORMAL when I’m behind the camera. I threaten, I get nasty and I lay out the rewards before we even get started just to let everyone know…we can be done this SO quickly if you JUST BE NORMAL and SMILE! I will admit that the older they get, the easier it has been. The real ease of it is that my kids genuinely love each other. I don’t like to be braggy, and I’m not calling myself a supermom or anything, but my children share a bond that I am so proud of. As an only child, this is what sibling-hood always appeared to be to me. Three kids who can play endless hours together, make up crazy games, enjoy the same movies and end up cuddling in each other’s arms often. Don’t get me wrong, they bicker and argue and like their time apart, but the majority of the time, they are true BFFs. Its obvious I let them get silly and enjoy this shoot because I wanted that real fun love to come across in the photos and I think it happened. All of these shots were directed by my daughter herself, which was fun to watch her pose and be the boss (a part she does well). I hope you find them as cute as I do!

Last of Season Overload – {Heather Milano – Bucks County Photographer}

I had a very exciting fall season of 2011. I would have loved to have done MORE sessions but with my “other job”, running a house hold, planning a vacation and holidays quickly approaching, I really had to limit myself this year. Right after I promised myself I wouldn’t do any more sessions, D got in touch with me. Her hubby’s big birthday was coming up and there was nothing more than he wanted but family portraits. He didn’t necessarily want to be IN them himself, but he wanted them of his children. Our kids have gone to preschool together over the past few years and there was just no way I could say no to her cool kids. We were able to work a date out and meet up without her husband finding out. I can’t tell you enough how awesome these kids were. We had a very small time frame to work with in addition to fighting the late afternoon sunlight. These four posed, smiled, jumped, ran, sat, and smiled some more on command. I ended up with so many photos I had no idea how I would select a reasonable amount to showcase. Naturally, when shooting a larger family it is bound to happen, but the variety they willingly gave me just made it much tougher! With that being said, I’m going to break down their shoot among a few posts because I just had the hardest time choosing a few. I’m starting youngest to oldest!

And big bro…who pretty much is like his taller twin!

I simply can’t thank Facebook enough sometimes when it comes to friends who I may have never otherwise reunited again with. I met T wayyyy back in grade school. She was the good friend and classmate of one of my very best friends. Birthday parties and social outings were really the extent of our knowing one another, but given her kind nature, I would have always considered her a friend. Thanks to Facebook, I have been able to become “Friends” again with T. Happily married and living the good life, she soon contacted me for this:

She had a precious sweet little girl! She was born right at Halloween, despite the Santa hat, and appropriately T had a variety of costumes for her shoot. Fast forward and now we have a seriously pretty little girl. She truly has this doll face and I just wanted to eat.her.up! She chatted all through our session reminding me so much of my own daughter at her age. I thank you guys for making the ride up and catching the last bit of fall sun that daylight savings stole from us quicker than expected!
