I will be up front and honest that when I found out I was having twin boys, I was a little more than surprised. Having had a daughter already, I just “assumed” at least ONE of those would be a girl. It would be easy because I was already well equipped with pink and purple, plus, my daughter was so easy going, delightful, beautiful, silly, shall I go on? I just wanted to replicate her as much as possible! Given the path that lead us to twins, I counted my blessings again, and again, and looked forward to the two boys that I had once prayed for as a teen (I could not imagine myself a mom of anything but boys at one time!) Fast forward three years and my sons are not only as special and unique as my daughter, but I feel like I have the best of both worlds! My sons are as lovable, if not more, and combined with my daughter’s crazy humor, they are a true comedy act. My boys were the perfect pieces to our family and I am ever so grateful.

My first son, by 14 minutes, is the true “middle child”. Its his way or the highway. He’s not going to give you a bite of his cookie or share his favorite car. He’s not going to let you dress him in the first outfit you choose. He’s going to pester you so many times for anything that you will just give in to hear him stop whining. However, he will climb into your lap and rub your face until you can barely keep your eyes open, even while blogging. He will smother you with sweet soft kisses and rub your ear (its his thing). He will cuddle with you in bed. He will give you a hug when you are hurt or sad. If I’m angry, he will say in his sweet voice, “Mommy? You happy?” and with that, my heart melts away my mood. He has such a gentle heart when it comes to emotions. He is so unbelievable handsome because he’s so quirky. He’s got four dimples…yes, four. Two in his cheeks and two on the tops of his mouth. He’s got unruly curly hair that looks fantastic some days and a hot mess others. He has eyes that a girl would die for – long curled lashes with big brown almond eyes. He’s a little on the stocky side, which just makes him that much more squeezable. He’s a total opposite of his twin brother in so many ways. I love my baby so much that its about time I share it with all of you.

and what you can do to help. It has recently been an explosion across Facebook, Twitter and numerous other internet sites. Layla Grace. The sweet little girl is battling devastating cancer and her story is one that every mother, father, human should read about. I do forewarn you that it is an extremely emotional story but I feel that her story needs to be shared. Every prayer and thought is appreciated by her family and if I can add one more person to their support group, its the least I can do.

You can read about Layla Grace’s young life at www.laylagrace.org. I was particularly drawn to the blog post where photographer, Christie Lacy, gave her family the most beautiful photo session one could ask for in such a desperate time. Its moving to look at these photos and know whats going on behind the scenes. As a parent, I can’t imagine the turmoil the Marsh family is going through. I can’t imagine what Layla’s siblings are feeling and experiencing. It pains me to know that Layla Grace is just one of thousands who is going through this every day that you don’t know about.

I’d like to ask my friends and readers if you know a family who has a child that is terminally ill, please email me at HMilanoPhoto@aol.com. It would truly be a blessing for me to give to a family in such a situation.

Thanks always for reading

(*It was posted in previous days that supporters of Layla Grace could use her photos to spread word about her story. This was taken from Layla Grace’s facebook fan page).
